تعتبر حضارة مصر القديمة واحدة من أقدم وأعظم الحضارات في تاريخ الإنسانية. نشأت على ضفاف نهر النيل وازدهرت لآلاف السنين. يمكن تقسيم تاريخ مصر القديمة إلى عدة فترات رئيسية.
-العصور القديمة
في الفترة ما بين 3100 قبل الميلاد إلى 2686 قبل الميلاد نشأت الأسر المصرية الأولى وتأسست مملكة مصر القديمة.
تميزت هذه الفترة ببناء الأهرامات الشهيرة في الجيزة و بظهور الكتابة الهيروغليفية والعديد من الآلهة والعقائد الدينية.
-العصور الوسطى
تبعتها فترة الانقسام الداخلي والاحتلالات الأجنبية.
خلال العصور الوسطى (1782 - 2134 قبل الميلاد) شهدت مصر حكم الأسر ال 11 المشهورة بالأوسريس و الهكسوس.
-العصور الحديثة
من العصور الوسطى، دخلت مصر في فترة الدول الوسطى (1570 - 1782 قبل الميلاد)، والتي شهدت استعادة وحدة مصر بقيادة الملك كاموس.
ثم جاءت فترة العصور الحديثة (1070 - 1570 قبل الميلاد) حيث تألقت مصر مرة أخرى وأسس الملك تحوتموس الثالث الإمبراطورية الجديدة ونجح في توسيع الإمبراطورية.
-الفترة الرومانية والإسلامية
فيما بعد تأثرت مصر بالإمبراطورية الرومانية والإمبراطورية البيزنطية. ثم جاء الفتح الإسلامي لمصر في القرن السابع الميلادي، مما أدى إلى تأثير الإسلام والحضارة الإسلامية على المنطقة.

Then came the period of modern times (1070 - 1570 BC), where Egypt shone again and King Thutmose III founded the new empire and succeeded in expanding the empire.
-Roman and Islamic period
Later, Egypt was influenced by the Roman Empire and the Byzantine Empire. Then came the Islamic conquest of Egypt in the seventh century AD, which led to the influence of Islam and Islamic civilization on the region.
